While our luxury natural skincare products are formulated with mostly African grown plant-based ingredients, we do include other "global" oils, each chosen for their specific skincare properties.  


Avocado oil:

Avocado oil is rich in vitamins A, D and E. It is easily absorbed by the skin and is fantastic for dry, mature skins as well as sun damaged skin. The oil supports cell regeneration and collagen production, helping prevent age spots, while calming inflammation and protecting the barrier functions of the skin. It is perfect for mature skin types in need of hydration.

Baobab oil:

The amazing Baobab tree, indigenous to eastern and southern Africa, is known as ‘The Tree of Life’ and some have been said to be over 6,000 years old. The Baobab tree produces fruit which is about the size of a coconut and oil is extracted from the seeds. It is a natural source of vitamins A, D3 and E which are all helpful for soothing inflamed and irritated skin. The oil is effective for use on sunspots and scarring, encouraging regeneration of skin cells and combined with its re-hydrating effect, helps combat wrinkles.

Kalahari Melon Seed oil:

This moisturising and restructuring oil originates in the Kalahari Desert from native melons. High in Linoleic Acid (Omega 6 fatty acids), the oil is exceptionally light and is easily absorbed into the skin. It helps dissolve excess sebum and repairs damage to the cells. Kalahari Melon Seed oil is very high in B vitamins along with magnesium and zinc. It is anti-inflammatory and nourishes and repairs without clogging pores.

Marula oil:

Indigenous to South Africa and considered one of Africa’s botanical treasures, the Marula tree produces fruit which is highly prized by humans and animals. The lightweight oil is cold pressed from the kernel of the Marula fruit and has been shown to have free radical scavenging properties. Marula oil is easily absorbed and increases skin hydration, smoothness and reduces redness. This fabulous oil improves the ability of the skin to hold moisture deep in its layers, resulting in plumper looking skin.

Moringa oil:

This exotic oil is rich in monounsaturated oleic acid (Omega 9). Oleic acid helps maintain suppleness, flexibility and softness and moisturizes by creating a fine protective film of fatty acids on the skin. Moringa oil is a beauty secret found in ancient Egyptian tombs and has long been valued for its ability to improve moisture, soften fine lines and improve skin tone.

Papaya Oil:

A beautifully nourishing oil high in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids help to keep moisture locked into the skin.  The antibacterial and antibiotic properties of this oil help soothe skin irritations.  Papaya oil contains an enzyme called Papain, which acts as a gentle exfoliant by dissolving excess sebum and dead skin cells.  Papaya oil can help fade dark pigmentation and brighten the complexion.

Passion Fruit oil:

Passion fruit oil comes from the seeds of the fruit, native to Africa. The oil has a high Vitamin C content, helping support collagen formation which helps keep the skin looking youthful and firm. The oil is a great source of vitamin A which is critical for cell growth and repair and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.


Borage oil:

Borage oil has the highest content of Gamma-Linolenic acid (Omega 6 fatty acid) of any plant oil, including Evening Primrose. GLA is an essential fatty acid that the body needs to modulate the body's hormonal and circulatory systems.  The high GLA content helps regenerate and rejuvenate the skin’s barrier function by maintaining skin elasticity. The oil is in antioxidants which help protect against free radical damage.  

Camellia oil:

High in monosaturated oleic acid (Omega 9), Camellia oil helps maintain smooth, supple skin. The oil does not clog pores or leave an oily feel. It is rich in Vitamins A, B, C and E and other antioxidants which protect the skin from free radical damage.

Rosehip oil:

Rosehip is scientifically proven to help heal scars and is used for treating wrinkles.  High in Vitamins A, C and E, the oil promotes collagen formation and helps delay skin aging.  Deep wrinkles, UV damage, dark spots and uneven skin tone are improved by the use of Rosehip oil.

Safflower oil:

The oils outstanding characteristic is its very high oleic acid content (at least 70%), which makes it highly moisturising and soothing.  The linoleic and oleic essential fatty acids leave the skin feeling nourished and smooth, while the Vitamins within the oil help the body synthesize the benefits provided by the essential fatty acids.  Vitamin A stimulates and increases collagen production and supports skin elasticity. 

Sea Buckthorn oil:

Sea Buckthorn is one of the most nutrient rich fruits available.  The oil has the ability to promote regeneration of skin calls and maintain healthy skin.  It's powerful orange colour, due to its high Vitamin A (Beta Carotene) content protects against damaging UV exposure and free radical damage and leaves the skin with a healthy sun-kissed glow.
